Sticky Toffee Pudding / Sticky Date Pudding

by Maureen on July 24, 2012

I’ve got a guest post on Cafe Terra Blog today and in the post I tell how the planets aligned so that I found my way from Florida to Australia. I also shared one of the most popular desserts in Australia (and one I really like), sticky date pudding. It’s an English dessert carried down under and I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like it.

This dessert is made in the states too and it’s also called Sticky Toffee Pudding but the English word pudding means dessert and not the custard many Americans know as pudding. Please visit Cafe Terra Blog and tell her that she’s absolutely wonderful for asking me to guest post for her?

Dear Maureen,

I don’t have a sweet tooth but for some reason, this is one dessert that I will make an exception for provided it not too sweet. I love the ones where there is a slightly savoury taste to counter the sweet toffee and caramel flavour.

I saw this at Terra’s; I’ve never tried date pudding but I’d absolutely love to try this!

it’s really date cake with gooey caramel sauce but that would be my American way of describing it :)
