Finding a graphic designer or web designer who can get into my head and know what I want is really difficult. Sometimes I don’t know what I want – but I always know what I don’t like. If you’ve got a website or blog, you know just what I’m talking about.
I looked around everywhere and on Facebook a friend sent me a message and said I should try Glenn from Glick Designs and she gave me a link to his website. On first look, his designs didn’t seem to fit much with food and then I thought, he’s done designs that people have asked for, so I sent him a message.
Have you faffed around trying to find a designer only to find out that she or he is too busy or won’t work past 5pm and then you never know when you’re going to get your design? That’s happened to us on more than one occasion so I’m happy to say that I received my first reply within minutes and I explained what I needed and asked for the price. It was reasonable to the point that if I hated it, it wouldn’t break my heart to toss it in the bin. Maybe I shouldn’t admit that I’ve done that before but how do you know someone ‘gets’ you unless you give it a try.
Imagine my shock when I got up the following morning and found this in my email asking me how I liked it.
I did! He totally got apple pie and the flag and the ribbon banner without having to say a word. With that one approved, he started on Aussie Food Bloggers and I’ll admit up front that I didn’t like it. That didn’t bother Glenn one bit. “Leave it with me and I’ll get back to you.”
Well, shock and awe, he did and it was within an hour. I’m happy with them both.
Once I had those done, I had a proper look around his website and I’m going to ask him to design some new business cards for me. Mine are crap and because of that, I rarely give one out.
Glenn also can take a photograph and turn it into a cartoon. I love this idea and I’m trying to figure out how I could use one.
Too often people do a great job and we forget to tell others about it. Well, this time I’m telling. If you need a designer that won’t cost the world, is responsive to a fault and whose work is good, I recommend Glenn.
